Poloroid

Artist Reflection

The strongest technical aspect of my work is is the combination of polaroids working together to surround the mother and daughter while having the girls arms reach out of the edge of the polaroid. The technical aspect of my work that could be improved on is the stacking of the Polaroid's to make them appear as if they are more scattered.

The easy part of this art art activity was finding an image to use since I just quickly browsed through my photos and immediately knew I wanted to work with this photo and the other easy part was stacking and erasing the polaroids around the people. The difficult part was creating a layer mask on the image of the mother and daughter to change the background to the purple that it is now.

I demonstrated the objective of this art activity by creating a photo that makes it look like a bunch ion polaroids were thrown onto a table and all worked together to create an image. I also made it appear as if there was something sticking out of the polaroids and also changed the background creating symbols which represent the original image. If I were to do this project again I would try to incorporate the polaroids more so it looks like the mother/daughter for example would actually be on the polaroids and also try to scatter them some more.

Portrait Retouch

Artist Reflection

The strongest technical aspect of my work is the removal of the freckles using the spot removal tool and partially using paint brushes. The technical aspect of my work which could be improved on is smoothing out the face but still retain detail/ texture so it doesn't appear totally fake but rather can still be perceived as realistic.

The easy part of this art activity was changing the hair color and removing the red tone of the overall image. The difficult part was actually removing all the freckles which was nearly impossible because it was like legitimately her whole face.

I demonstrated the objective of this project by using the paint brush and patch removal tool along with a gaussian blur to remove and clear up her skin. If I could do this art activity again I would probably choose somebody with maybe blemishes rather than freckles or at least somebody with less freckles that didn't blur out towards the edge of the face due to a shallow depth of field because this made it relatively difficult to make those parts look like smooth even skin.
